Adele, the British singer winner of 10 Grammys and an Oscar, said during a concert she gave in Los Angeles that she have rejected an offer by the NFL and Pepsi to participate in the halftime of the 2017 Super Bowl.
According to a video circulating on social networks, the interpreter of Hello said that the Super Bowl is not about music, and she assured she cannot dance or anything like that, so although they were very kind to ask, she declined the offer.
On the other hand the NFL and Pepsi sponsors of the Super Bowl secured by a joint statement that although they are big fans of Adele, they have not made any offer to the singer. They reported that they have had several conversations with artists for the halftime show of the event, but have not extended any formal offer to anyone. And finally commented that for now they are focusing on putting together a fantastic show for Houston, which will be announced once it´s all ready.
It is noteworthy that last year Beyonce, Chris Martin and Bruno Mars were in charge of the halftime of the Super Bowl, and in previous years artists like Madonna, The Rolling Stones and Prince have participated during the event.
An important fact is that on the transmission of the Super Bowl, companies pay up to $ 5 million dollars for 30 seconds on the screen during the halftime, and the last on, that was held in the Levi Stadium in Santa Clara, California, it is considered the third most watched program in television history in the United States since it reached an audience of 111.9 million people, while during the halftime it came to 115.5 million viewers.
The Super Bowl will be held in the NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas on February 5, 2017 and will be broadcast on Fox.
Finally it is important to mention that the NFL will return this 2016 to Mexico after 11 years of absence with a game between the Oakland Raiders and the Houston Texans, which will be held on November 21 at the Azteca Stadium in Mexico City.
