CUARON1

This will be the first film that the filmmaker works in his native country since the iconic film “Y Tu Mama Tambien“, starring Gael Garcia and Diego Luna.

At the end of the year, the production of this new film —which is still untitled— will start, and will be written and directed by Cuarón, under the production of Participant Media, a producer who was also responsible for “Spotlight”- Oscar winner for best film in 2015- and “Contagion”.

Alfonso Cuarón said in a press release that this is a very valuable project for him as it is his first film in Mexico after so many years, and unveiled his excitement to work with the team of Participant Media.

This is the first film of Cuarón after Gravity, which won seven Oscars in 2014, and it will tell the story of a middle class family in Mexico City, in the early 70s.

The new film will be produced by Cuarón, Gabriela Rodriguez (Gravity, Children of Men) and Nicolas Celis (Desert, Heli, Wild region), executive produced by Jeff Skoll, David Linde and Jonathan King of Participant Media.

The cast and the title of the film have not yet been released, but we can expect to have some more information on the project soon.
