Just after the acquisition of one of Mexico’s largest wireless service provider Iusacell, AT&T launched its international calling package, featuring unlimited calling from USA toany number in Mexico for both land and mobile lines… at no additional charge!
AT&T, the second largest wireless carrier in USA, knows the most dialed country from its users is Mexico, and to show some appreciation to their clients, they’ve launched this new calling package that is sure to benefit consumers and business in both Mexico and USA.
This way AT&T will communicate those who call family and friends in their neighboring country down south, and this could represent a significant decrease on international phone costs; additionally from the previously-released unlimited text, picture and video messaging packages.
The Dallas-based phone company, AT&T is also planning to acquire a second wireless service provider in Mexico: Nextel Mexico, owned by NII Holdings, Inc.
This is part of AT&T’s plan to bring a larger competition and faster mobile Internet to the Mexican market, which is somewhat monopolized by a major Mexican Phone company. It also means to create a first-everNorth American Mobile Service that could cover over 400 million consumers and business in Mexico and USA.
