During a keynote speech offered during the Tianguis Turístico México 2015, Mexican Secretary of Foreign Affairs, José Antonio Meade Kuribreñaemphasized the importance of international agencies for the dissemination and promotion of cultural destinations in Mexico, which include 32 sites registered as World Heritage by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).

In this regard, he highlighted the efforts of Mexican authorities to ensure the preservation of cultural heritage and prevent the illegal trade of historical artifacts.

He also praised the fact that corporations such as the Ministry of Tourism, ProMéxico and the Tourism Board of Mexico appreciate the vital importance of the sustainability of regional destinations, a fact which he described as a turning point in Latin America.

During his presentation, he explained the role of the Foreign Ministry and its importance in the development of tourism architecture, networks of creative cities and even in the elaboration of public policies for the development of tax regimes, immigration measures and planning air connections to encourage tourism.
