Mexican astrophysicist contributes to Stephen Hawking’s hypotheses about Origin of Universe

Mexican astrophysicist, Leticia Corral has caused commotion in the scientific world, because using Einstein’s equations and Penrose’s conformal cyclic cosmology model, she has questioned Stephen Hawking’s Origin of Universe theory.

The International Association of Engineers awarded Leticia Corral because of her work

Mexican astrophysicist, Leticia Corral has caused commotion in the scientific world, because using Einstein’s equations and Penrose’s conformal cyclic cosmology model, she has questioned Stephen Hawking’s Origin of Universe theory.

Leticia believes that the universe is a cyclical phenomenon, which begins and ends in the same point; using a mathematical model she developed, she hopes to be able to calculate the Big Bang entropy which could define whether our universe is expanding or if the cycle is near to the Big Crunch; it also allow us to know the type of our universe –if is flat or mount of sphere-.

For this investigation, the International Association of Engineers awarded Leticia Corral, who said:  “I receive this award as a reward for my spirit; I feel that my thought goes beyond time and space”.

For her contribution, the Mexican researcher was invited to meet and discuss Corral’s model with the mathematical physician, Roger Penrose, member of the Royal Society of London and winner of the Wolf Prize in physics.

Mexican astrophysician added that her investigation is not complete; she needs more studies on quantum gravity.

 “The only thing that is offering us a comfort, to those who study such phenomena, is quantum gravity, although many questions are without answer yet until I study it more in depth”.
