European companies have shown interest in patenting the project, since one of its greatest advantages is that in order to make it work all you need is a source of light –whether artificial or natural-, and there’s no need for wiring or electric installation. This in fact, makes the entire project very practical.
Stated in the press release by CONACYT, the researcher ensures that the material has a rather broad number of uses and applications, especially within the architectural market. Additionally, it can benefit areas that need lighting, or spaces that have no access to electrical installations.
He also said that it is estimated that the durability of the cement light emitter is approximately 100 years, plus it is easily recyclable due to its material components.
