After the unfortunate events in Paris, the entire world is united with the people and government of France. Last night the buildings and most important monuments of the world were lit with the colors of the French flag.
Mexico City’s government lit up with blue, white and red the following: The Independence Monument, La Glorieta de la Palma, the Cuauhtémoc Monument and the Zocalo. The Mexican Senate building and the Ministry of Foreign Relationships also joined in this solidary act. On the other hand, the Soumaya Museum decided to turn its lights off in support to France.

President Enrique Peña Nieto posted on his official Twitter account: “Mexico firmly condemns these day attacks in Paris” and “we express our solidarity with the people of France, and our heartfelt condolences to the families of those who lost their life”.
Before the Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers match against El Salvador, the Mexican national team players observed a minute of silence for the unfortunate events in Paris.
On Friday night, Mexicans laid flowers outside the embassy of France, which also announced that by Tuesday at noon the embassy- located on Champs Elysees Avenue in district Polanco- will set a condolences book.
According to the Mexico City International Airport, flights from or to France remain unchanged. Aeroméxico announced that passengers with flights scheduled this Saturday to Paris who wish to change their departure, or return flight, can do it without extra charge.
