The state of Quintana Roo leads the rest of the country for job generation, according to figures from the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS).

 

Quintana Roo leads the rest of the country for employment generation in 2017, with 10.5 percent – double the national average of 4.5 percent, according to figures released by the Mexican Social Security Institute.

Quintana Roo’s Governor Carlos Joaquin said that in the third quarter of this year, Quintana Roo generated 41,194 formal jobs.  This figure represents 9,036 more than in the same period of the previous year.

 

The governor of Quintana Roo added that in the second quarter of 2017, Quintana Roo had already registered 32,426 formal jobs against the 26,990 registered in 2016.

“We are moving in the right direction, correcting the course of Quintana Roo so that people over 40 years of age will have a job, which in the past they did not get,” said Carlos Joaquín.

 

He said, “through credit, women also improve their economy and generate work by strengthening or opening new businesses.” He added that although the process is slow, together we can make it possible for the commitments made to people to become a reality.

The figures were released during a recent event hosted by President Enrique Peña Nieto at la Residencia oficial de los Pinos in Mexico City.
