Sergio Checo Pérez knows that, after five years, 2015 has to be his best season as a Formula 1 driver.
He has the support of the Sahara Force India Team, and its main sponsor, Escudería Telmex. But more importantly, this year he will run at home, with his people, in Mexico’s Grand Prix.
On January 21st, Sahara Force India presented the VJMo8 vehicles, built by Mercedes Benz, that will be driven by its pilots Sergio Checo Pérez and German Nico Hulkenberg, in the 2015 Formula 1 World Championship.
The presentation was held at the Museo Soumaya, a cultural enclosure built by billionaire Carlos Slim Helú in the western side of Mexico City, to house his extensive art collection.
The Grand Prix of Mexico will run on November 1st at the Autódromo de los Hermanos Rodriguez, which will be the second fastest circuit of the season, just behind Monza, in Italy.
The return of Formula 1 will be the biggest sporting event in Mexico in 2015 and a major tourist magnet. Up to 250,000 fans are expected at the three-day competition that will leave a direct economic impact of $ 45 million USD and benefit by $ 2,000 million USD for the next five years.
In addition, the Grand Prix of Mexico will be followed by almost 520 million people in 150 countries.
