Mexico and France launch 'Vacations-Work' agreementBy Valeria Bigurra Peñavera
This seeks to promote mobility within the youth between both nations.
Many times we don't travel for fear of running out of money, or lose our jobs, but let's be honest travel is one of the few things that are worthwhile, because in the end we are the result of all the experiences we have lived, then instead of generating more income, we should focus on generating more life experience, and now we can do both at the same time.
The governments of Mexico and France noted that desire to travel in young people, so they created an agreement in which you will surely be interested if you are one of those who love to see new places.
From September 1st it will enter into force the "Agreement on the Vacation and Work Program " between Mexico and France.
Which will enable young people of both countries, between 18 and 30 years to enter and remain temporarily in both territories, to enjoy their vacations, but with the possibility to legally work to support their stay.
The program seeks to promote the culture of both countries among young people, because applicants can stay up to 12 months in Mexico and France respectively in order to know more about the country.
According to a press release issued by the Embassy of Mexico in France, the French government will extend a temporary Visa for a long stay of up to 12 months to those Mexicans who present their individual request to the Consulate General of the French Republic in Mexico.
Some of the requirements that they ask is that you have between 18 and 30 years old, that you are not accompanied by dependents, to have a Mexican passport, as well as means to leave France once your stay is over, plus those interested have to prove they have enough money to live during their arrival and also have a medical certificate attesting good health, no criminal record and have insurance to cover them in France.
Similarly Mexico will receive the French interested in benefit from the agreement, as long as they submit an individual application for a temporary visa at the Consular Section of the Embassy of Mexico in France, a letter in which they detail the reasons for the request, and count with the same requirements as in the case of Mexicans who decide to go to France.
In the case of French nationals it is important to remember that during the first 30 days of their arrival in Mexico, they must apply to the National Institute of Migration for a temporary resident card that is valid for 12 months.
The interesting thing about this agreement is that interested parties will be able to seek legal employment in the place they visit, because often the economic solvency is what makes trips short, and this facility people to be able to stay in the country they visit for 12 months to learn more about their culture.
Finally it is important to mention that both states reserve the right to reject visa applications, and to set a maximum annual number of people who may be benefited from the program.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mexico will provide more information through its website, as well as in their social networks - Facebook and Twitter-, and French Interested parties may obtain more information by sending an email to the Consular Section of the Embassy of Mexico in France from September 5 to: firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com
